The name of Schofeilds was derived from the surname of John Schofield, an England native, who was brought to New South Wales as a sentence for stealing when he’s 17.
He was assigned to work for Thomas Harley in 1821. Seven years later, John was granted with a Ticket to Leave, which freed him within the Parramatta district.
He married Bridget Harley, daughter of Thomas Harley, on 1892. And live in the suburb with their eight kids.
